Today we met my friend Brianne, her husband Jeff and their son Brennan (10 months)at the Woodland Park Zoo. They were visiting Seattle from Spokane and we thought it would be fun to meet up with the boys. Dylan is a great age to take to the zoo although he wanted to be carried a lot more than we had anticipated and since we chose not to bring a stroller, we found ourselves getting a bit worn out! He absolutely enjoyed seeing the many different animals- his highlights were the lion, gorillas and baby gorilla, elephants, zebras and bears. It's such a nice zoo to enjoy on a warm sunny day and we were really glad we were able to enjoy it with our friends!

Dylan was practicing his lion roar most of the day. The lion wasn't very ferocious when we saw it- she was taking a nap in the grass- but Dylan liked this sculpture of a lion just as much.

We were all a bit hungry after a lot of walking so Kevin bought some snacks but Dylan hijacked them and ate most all of them! He apparently doesn't share food.
Brennan fell asleep in his stroller at the end of the outing. So sweet!

Mother's Day
Today was Mother's Day (which in the last two years has quickly become my favorite holiday!) We celebrated the day by going to the Mariner's game. Dylan was very excited when we made it into the stadium and was pretty much in awe at first. He was highly impressed by the grounds crew (they had hoses) and then the Mariner Moose! During the 3rd inning he got a bit restless so we decided to take a little walk and get a snack. While I was in the bathroom Kevin and Dylan found the line to visit the Moose's Den and get a picture with the famous critter. So...we stood in the line for about 10 minutes and Dylan was excited to see him. Then we got to the front of the line right up to the Moose and he FREAKED out! He immediately started crying and saying "No way" and literally everyone in line started laughing! I thought maybe if I gave the moose a hug he might realize he was being a bit over dramatic but seeing me give the "scary" beast a hug made him cry worse! Needless to say we did not get a picture of that terrorizing ordeal. However we did manage to watch the whole game (minus the homerun hit to our section during our Mariner Moose disaster) and a win by the Mariners! So in all it was a great day and I loved spending it with my favorite boys.

Dylan was so exhausted by the end of the game he fell right asleep in the car on the way home. He had his little Mariner hat on and it completlely covered his face. Too cute!

On Thursday Dylan's daycare provider invited all of the moms to her house/daycare for a mother's day celebration. It was so cute to watch Dylan and the other kids play together and nice to actually visit with some of the other parents since usually we are all in a rush to either drop-off or pick-up our kiddos. While we were there Anita had the kids sing some of their favorite songs like they do during circle time. It was just hilarious to watch-- they were all too cute! I had to get a little video on my camera. Anita also helped the kids decorate cookies for a cookie bouquet for each mom. Dylan was so proud of the cookies he made and I just thought he was precious when he brought them to me.
This is Dylan's friend Mihika- she is so adorable. Every day when I pick up Dylan she tries to beat him to be the first to hug me and she talks all of the time! She definitely gives Dylan a run for his money!
