Crossing our fingers....

Well the offer that we got on our house on the first day on the market looks like it is going to go through! We are absolutely thrilled that our place sold so quickly and if all goes well with the inspection tomorrow morning we should be on our way to closing on July 17th. Kevin and I made a quick trip back over to Seattle yesterday and managed to get a lot of "stuff" loaded into a cargo van to bring back to our storage unit here in Spokane. It was so strange being in our house and feeling like it's not really ours anymore. It's been such a good home for us and we will definitely miss some things about it! We'll do the big move on the weekend of July 10th (our anniversary....so romantic I know). We are seriously considering a house that we found here in Spokane this week and may put in an offer tomorrow! Things are moving quickly but that's the way I like it! Cross your fingers for us that everything works out!

Our now "former"residence.

Hopefully I'll be able to post a picture of our new house this week.....don't want to jinx it yet though! Stay tuned.

Strawberry Picking

On Friday my mom and I took Dylan, Evan and Dominic strawberry picking in Greenbluff. It was just the perfect day and the boys had a great time being outside and picking some sweet berries. Now it's time for strawberry rhubarb pie, strawberry shortcake and strawberry jam and syrup. Yum!
The boys thought the name of the train was quite funny.

Life Update

Well, it's official. I am 30 years old and back living in my parents basement. It's funny to move back into the room I slept in all through high school but now share it with my husband (Dylan resides on the 2nd floor which makes for a long climb early in the morning when he wakes up). We've managed to make ourselves at home and are so thankful to have my parents who are willing to put up with us until our house sells and we can purchase something here in Spokane. It's actually been quite nice so far! We are so thankful for our family support with this move- from my mom who busted her tail helping me get our house ship shape for resale, to both sets of grandparents for caring for Dylan this past week, and my sister and her family for keeping Zoe for us until we get a new place. Wow- we are so fortunate!
As for the status on our house.....it went on the market on Wednesday and we had our first offer that night! We had to go through the process of counter offering but it looks like we have a deal and will hopefully close on July 17th. So now we are starting to look more seriously at neighborhoods and what is out there. We definitely aren't looking for our "dream house" at this point but rather something in a good neighborhood with families and kids, a fenced yard for dear old Zoe Dog, and room for our family to grow. It's exciting to be looking forward to this next life chapter.

Lake Chelan

Just returned from a much needed weekend get-away to Lake Chelan with our good friends the Steltz's. Lani and I had planned this trip as a surprise (early) Father's Day gift for the guys-- a weekend to hang out together, drink, golf and enjoy their families and I must say we did just that! The house we rented outside of Manson was perfect for our two little families and we all enjoyed the huge deck overlooking the lake, the waterfront and the hot tub (or hot pool as Dylan calls it). I think we'll have to make this an annual tradition!

Dylan took this picture of us.

The Sweetest Distraction

Amidst the chaos of packing up a house, preparing for selling and uprooting our little family I have had the best distraction in the afternoons! My friend Eleni from growing up in Spokane had to return to work this week and needed someone to watch her most beautiful 5 1/2 month twin boys (Athan & Nicholas) for a few hours in the afternoons. I gladly agreed to help her out a few months back and despite the craziness of life right now, I'm so glad I did. Wow, twins! They are just precious and are such good little babies. Dylan is my little babysitting partner and we have made a good team. He is going to make a great big brother someday!

Isn't this just the funniest picture! I crack up when I see it!!!
