It has become somewhat of a tradition for Kevin and I to make the trek back home for Easter each year. In the seven years that we have been together I think we have only missed one Easter celebration at Kevin's Uncle Brian and Aunt Debbie's beautiful farm in Colfax (and that was last year when Easter fell on Dylan's birthday). It's such an ideal place to spend Easter Sunday....surrounded by rolling hills of growing wheat and open spaces, and sometimes if you are lucky beautiful blue skies. Every year the Largents host a large group of family, friends, and extended family (including my own) to their place for a pot-luck lunch, Easter egg hunt, games and of course dessert. This year was no exception! Although we didn't get the sunny, warm day I was hoping for it was a wonderful time nonetheless.
In addition to my parents this year, my sister's family joined us as well. Kevin really enjoyed showing the boys the farm and took advantage of the four-wheeler to take Evan out to the barns and even had to teach him how to herd in a loose cow and her calf. Dylan had a great time playing with all of the cousins, kids aunts and uncles, hunting Easter eggs in the huge expanse of a yard and eating candy pretty much all day. I'm so glad that we have a place for our little "city kid" to escape and enjoy the wide open spaces of the country!
This is a picture of all the "kids" that celebrated at the Largents.
