56 Days

Eight weeks! How this is possible is beyond me. Grace was born on Dylan's last day of preschool and now I'm looking at the calendar and realizing he starts back to school in just 3 more weeks. Crazy!
We are loving each and everyday with our little "Toots" (nicknamed because she is seriously the gassiest baby I know....I'm sure she's not going to like the name as she gets older but it certainly fits now!) She smiles and coos and recognizes her mommy, daddy and big brother. It's amazing watching her little personality develop....she definitely knows what she wants, and when she's feeling sad or getting upset she does the cutest little pout by sticking out her bottom lip. I'm pretty sure I made the same face growing up....in fact Kevin would probably say I still do!
She's got a pretty good little schedule going and we've started a bed time routine where she goes down after a bath around 9 PM and she's been sleeping longer each night- last night she didn't wake up until 5 AM, ate, then went back down until after 8:30! (I do know that by typing and publishing this I'm now completely jinxing myself).
We've made a lot of progress with her milk protein allergy and reflux. I'm still off dairy and (most) caffeine and she's on her 2nd medication for the reflux that seems to be working well...although she still spits up A LOT it doesn't bother her anymore.
She's a good napper and gets some quality playtime in during the day, but she is sooooo needy between 5-8 PM of course that's when Dylan usually falls apart for the day, I'm trying to get dinner organized and we are waiting for Kevin to get home from work. I've decided I need to just give myself permission to call in a pizza order (and pick off the cheese on my slices) or pop the chicken nuggets into the oven so that I can survive. Oh and usually opening a bottle of wine helps too.
We are looking forward to some time at the lake this month, a weekend visit with our good friends and our first camping trip! I'm committing myself and Grace to one night in a trailer....if it goes well we might agree to 2!
Before I know it she'll be 3 months old. Guess I'll keep savoring each passing day to the best of my ability!
