Are We There Yet?

It's been a busy couple of weeks for our little family! Two weeks ago, Kevin took some time off and we packed up the kids and my mom and headed on a roadtrip to Montana. Without going into details I will admit that it was not the most enjoyable 8 hours (each way) that I've spent in a car. Let's just say that Dylan starting asking "Are we there yet?" before we even reached the Idaho border (which is approximately 15 minutes from our house) and Grace, being her first long car ride was not a fan of being buckled in for that long. But, we survived and it was indeed totally worth it to introduce Grace Evelyn to her great-grandma Evelyn Deming (age 91), and Great Uncle Hank & Aunt Kay. To make things even sweeter, my lifelong bestie Sharisse just happened to be in Billings the night we arrived so we were able to see her and her 7 month baby bump along with her parents for a bit. (Pictures to come- they are on my mom's camera)

The following weekend, Kevin and I had the treat of getting a little time away from the kiddos to attend his company leadership dinner in Seattle. Thanks to Kevin's parents who were willing to takeover our parenting duties (soccer, birthday parties, etc) we were able to sneak away. We flew over on Saturday and had time to have lunch, shop, get coffee, and pre-dinner cocktails before going to the Space Needle for dinner. The next day before flying home we had a delicious 'yum yum' dim sum brunch at our old stand-by Chinese restaurant and some more shopping time. Being back in Seattle definitely made us both feel a little nostalgic- there are certainly things that we miss (for example signs of SPRING!) but we sure are happy where we are at right now, and coming home to the squeals of a happy 10 month old and hugs from our favorite 5 year old made being home even sweeter.
