Yesterday our little Grace turned 1 month old! It's hard to believe how fast time goes with a newborn, however there are days that seem like an eternity as well. She is growing and changing with every day- I know I'll look back on this time and wonder how she grew up so fast! After a difficult week- Grace was really fussy, only wanted to be held to sleep, and generally not the happy baby we had come to know, we took her to the doctor on Friday and learned that she is allergic to the proteins in cow's milk and has reflux as well. We had thought she wasn't getting satisfied with my breast milk and had began supplementing with formula which probably made her tummy issues worse. Poor thing! Now I've cut out dairy and (yikes) CAFFEINE in an attempt to ease her digestion issues. Just in the past two days she has made a huge turn-around and is back to the mellow, content baby we had gotten used to. I'm hoping this means I'll have an easier week this week.....despite my coffee withdrawls.
