2012

Well it's my first post of 2012.  I just can't believe we are 12 years into this century....does anyone else feel like the "Millennium" New Year was not that long ago.  I guess I'm getting OLD because time keeps going by faster and faster.  We have lots to look forward to this year, and are hopeful that it will be full of good health, happiness and prosperity (yada, yada, yada).  I've never been one for making formal resolutions, but this year I have made a list of intentions- things I plan to focus my energy and spirit into with hopes of being able to look back on 2012 with some satisfaction that I have made some positive strides this year.  Some are simple some will definitely be works in progress.  In an effort to have some accountability I'll share them here:

  • Have more fun with my kids.  Parks, hikes, day outings, just playing games at home.  Whatever it is, I'm going to make more of an effort to enjoy the ages they are now and the fact they still want to hang out with me.
  • Try new things.  Restaurants, hair styles, recipes, activities, jobs???
  • Eat with chopsticks.  I want to be able to go to dim sum with my in-laws and not be the only one who asks for a fork.  I'm depending on my husband to help me with this!
  • Running.  I've never been a runner, but last summer I started and really enjoyed it (and the results).  I'm starting to train for Bloomsday (12k) again and am hoping to improve my time and rank for my age group this year.  I'd also like to do some 5k races throughout the year.
  • Save money.  I'm a spender and need to teach myself to be a saver. I think if I have a goal to save for, I'll be more likely to do it.
So that's it!  Here's to a successful year full of personal growth!

I'm trying out the running thing too! I'm running my first 5k with a Pi Phi friend in Feb! Good for you to write down your goals!
