Such a busy summer!

I've realized it's been quite a while since I've made a post in this blog so I decided to take advantage of a little quiet time and write!
We have been so busy these last few weeks and I'm looking at the calendar today wondering where in the world July went! Having the summer completely free of work has been such a joy. I've been able to spend so much quality time with Dylan and have gotten a lot of things crossed off my "to-do" list as well! One of the highlights of my summer has been reconnecting with dear friends. During the past couple of weeks Dylan and I have met up for coffee and playtime with Bre at U Village, had brunch in Madrona with one of my oldest friends Alexi who was in town from San Francisco for literally a night, and met for another brunch with my co-workers from school. Also last weekend the Steltz's came over from Yakima for a visit. Dylan and I met them at Point Defiance Zoo for the afternoon on Friday and they spent the rest of the weekend at our place hanging out with the kids (Allie is 18 months so she was a fun playmate for Dylan). Unfortunately I did not charge my camera and ended up at the zoo with no battery! Typical. Hopefully Lani will send some pictures from her camera.
Now, after a weekend in Portland celebrating Marcy's birthday, we are preparing to head east for a few days. We will head to Spokane first to check out my sister's new house and spend some time with the nephews (Dylan loves Evan and Dom so much!) Then we'll go to Colfax for the weekend where Kevin is hoping to take Dylan fishing (not sure how this will go considering he is two) and introduce Dylan to the world of farming and combines as they will likely be harvesting at Uncle Brian's farm. This should be extremely exciting for a little boy who is obsessed with large construction/farm equipment at the moment.
So more to come with lots more pictures I'm sure- I'm charging the battery right now!
