Well we are back from our extended weekend roadtrip better known as the grandparent circuit. We started out Wednesday morning and drove to Spokane to see my family. Now that the Figuracions are Spokane residents Dylan has playmates there and boy does he like to play with those big boys! We spent lots of time with Evan and Dominic so that my sister and Mel could work on their house renovations. Kevin took Dylan on his first trip to the golf course to work on his putting-- does he want to have a Tiger like phenom for a son....YES! We also swam each of the days that we were there and Dylan is hooked. He got to be pretty comfortable in the water and now will jump off the side. I took a little video of him in the pool but this was before he was full-fledged jumping.
Friday evening we began the second leg of our trip and headed to Colfax to see Kevin's family. Dylan loves spending time there because there is a lot to entertain him including feeding the horses apples and taking great-grandma's turtles out in the yard to let them race! He pretty much thinks this is awesome!

Saturday afternoon we took him to Uncle Brian's farm to see harvest in action. He got to watch the wheat truck get emptied into the grain elevator, ride in the wheat truck into the field and then ride along in the combine with Uncle Brian. He thought this was all pretty exciting. This was my first time seeing harvest first hand as well and I was impressed riding in the combine! The Palouse hills are so incredibly beautiful and you can see so far out when you are on top of the hills. Absolutely gorgeous!
The country living just continued Sunday morning when Kevin's cousin Rachel brought us out to see the pig she is raising for the fair. Apparently lots of the high school students raise pigs and then make money by selling them at auction in the fall. I personally don't think the money would be worth having to spend time in a stinky pig barn! This city girl could only handle it for a few minutes before I had to exit. Dylan didn't seem to mind the smell although all the way home he told us "Those piggies are kind of stinky!"

It was great to be able to spend some time with our families this past weekend and give Dylan the opportunity to experience some new things. We are looking forward to heading back for our first Cougar Football Saturday in Pullman on September 6th!
